Richie graduated from IUPUI in May of 2017 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science, focused in strength and conditioning. He completed his senior internship at the University of Indianapolis, working under their Strength and Conditioning staff and helping train athletes campus wide. During the course of his collegiate career, Richie competed in numerous weightlifting based competitions. Starting off his time at Purdue University, he competed in the World’s Strongest Boilermaker, taking first place in his second year competing. Throughout his college career, he competed in four powerlifting competitions, winning first in every attempt. Richie also competes in bodybuilding. During his first competition in the physique division, he won his class and the overall. The following year, he placed fourth in his class for the classic physique division.
Richie is working towards his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Following his passion for strength and conditioning, he has worked as the Strength Coach for two seasons with the Crimson Knights, a homeschool football team. Currently, he is volunteering at Center Grove High School with Head Strength Coach Marty Mills over the summer. Richie’s long term goal is to gain a position in a school system as a Head Strength Coach for young athletes. He has a strong passion for youth athletic development as well as educating people on the benefits and proper techniques of exercise. His goal is to make sure youth and clients are taught in a correct manner so they can perform at a high level with maximal amount of confidence and success.
